ARTS IN THE PARK   24″ x 30″ – The Carillon neighborhood located in Richmond puts on an event each year in the park for individuals to show their arts and crafts.  More than 400 exhibitors set up tents each year. This painting is a celebration of that event.  The two main volunteers, Pat and Robert Lovelace hold up a quilt that displays within each square images of events that have taken place over the years. For example, one of the squares depicts the occasion of President Obama’s speech held in front of the Carillon on October 25, 2012,  Another square depicts the welcoming committee giving out coffee and doughnut to the exhibitors.  Buses full of people arrive and the children dance.  We celebrate the event.
